How to find a grade percentage
Divide the points you earned by the total points possible, then multiply by 100: percentage = earned ÷ possible × 100. The calculator also maps the result to a letter grade using the standard US scale.
The same formula works for one quiz or for a whole course graded on total points. Add up every point you earned across the term, divide by every point that was available, and you have your course percentage. No weights are needed, because in a points-based course the weighting is already built into how many points each assignment carries.

Cutoffs vary between schools, so confirm yours before acting on a borderline number. Some courses round 89.5 up, others do not round at all, and plenty of syllabi set the A boundary at 90 rather than 93. Knowing which rule applies tells you whether one more point is worth chasing.
