How to average grades
To average grades that count equally, add them all up and divide by how many there are: average = sum ÷ count. This is a simple (unweighted) mean — every grade counts the same.
Averaging only works when the scores share a scale. Convert each mark to a percentage first if one was out of 20 points and another out of 50, because averaging raw point totals quietly gives the larger assignment more influence.
